“Children are a gift from the Lord” (Psalm 127:3) and they’re an important part of COG‒MJ. We have programs tailored to our kids’ specific age groups and interests.
SCHOOL ON THE ROCK WEEKENDS
SATURDAYS 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm (Sept to May)
SUNDAYS 9 am to 10 am OR 10:30 pm to 11:30 pm
We aspire for COG‒MJ to be the best hour in your child’s week!
We work hard to provide a safe, fun and interactive experience for your child. When you join our weekly service upstairs, we want you to feel comfortable enough to leave your child in our care downstairs. We have a team of caring staff and volunteers who work together to ensure that your child has a worship experience of their own that’s designed to teach them about Jesus and how to apply the Bible to their daily lives. We present the Bible in a relevant way that engages their imagination and inspires creativity.
Our goal is for your child to get to know and love Jesus, providing them with the place to learn and grow together in their friendship with Him and one another. Then, we aim to inspire them to demonstrate God’s love in real ways to people in their family, school, neighborhood, community and around the world.
First Time Here?
Go downstairs and look for the Children’s Ministry Desk. A volunteer will be there to help you sign in your child. They will need to input your information on the data system (i.e. children’s names, birth dates, address and phone numbers). They will ask if there are any specific instructions (i.e. allergies or special needs) for your child. A name tag will be printed for your child and an identification label for you (the parent). If we need to contact you during the service, we’ll send you a text message.
We have classrooms for Nursery (under age 2), Tots (ages 2 & 3), Preschool (ages 4), Middlers (ages 5 to 8) and Tweens (ages 9 to 12). You can drop off your kids ages 8 & under at the beginning of the service. But children ages 9 to 12 will be dismissed part way through the service after the first two opening worship songs.
if you have any questions or would like more information, e-mail Becky Adams, our Children’s Ministry Director.
Born to Dance
During the week, we offer dance classes to kids ages 3 to 14. This is an alternative to competitive, professional dance programs. We believe dance was created by God and for God! We offer children a relaxed and fun environment to learn about dance and an opportunity to perform onstage in an end-of-the-season recital.
We offer classes in ballet / creative movement (ages 3 & 4), ballet / tap combo (ages 5 & 6), musical theater (ages 6+), jazz / tap combo (ages 7+) and hip hop (ages 7+).
For more information, contact Kyleigh Coad, Born To Dance Director.
