The word “radical” is a word that is misunderstood today because people don’t know the original meaning of it. Today “radical” means “fanatical.” We don’t need any more fanatics in the world and the church, but we do need more radicals. Today, for some, radicals means over the top. To others it means excessive, extreme or on the edge. But the word “radical” comes from a Latin word which means “from the roots.” So, what “radical” means is to be rooted in the original. I want to challenge us today to have radical (deep roots) of thanksgiving.
