Values and Beliefs
GIVE
When we give to others we unveil their significance and worth, intrinsic value and purpose, and we communicate to them – “You are Loved!”
We are a people marked and changed by that action – GIVE! God has given us His very best in His Son Jesus and our desire is to be a people who will GIVE from what we have received! We dream of a church who will GIVE with great faith, unwavering hope and relentless love so that others would know what Jesus has given them!
The Scriptures are God’s word written to us and for us. It’s a true account of history penned by human authors who were inspired by God. The Bible shares the story of God and mankind, revealing the heart of our Heavenly Father and the truth about life. Because it is God’s word it is the source for truth, knowing God and Christian living.
We believe in one eternal God who created all things. He exists and makes Himself known as Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit.
We believe that each of us were made in the image of God for relationship with Him. Sin entered the world through Adam who believed the lie from Satan that God could not be trusted. That distrust led to disobeying God and consequently resulted in a broken relationship with Him. God gave us His Son, Jesus, to redeem us from the penalty of sin, and restore us back into relationship with Him.
We believe Jesus is the way for redemption for all humanity. Jesus, God’s only Son, was conceived by the Holy Spirit in the virgin Mary being fully man and fully God. He lived a sinless life that was given for the world so that those who believed in Him would have eternal life. Jesus gave His life completely to the point of dying a criminal’s death. Abandoned by His closest friends, He paid the price of our sin so that we could experience freedom from the consequence of our sin (eternally separated from God) and into new life both now and forever. Jesus rose again from the dead three days later and appeared to His disciples many times before ascending to the right hand of the Father where He continues to pray for us.
Holy Spirit was promised by Jesus as a gift from God to be our Helper. He convicts us of sin, points us to Jesus and helps us to know and be an expression of God’s heart according to who He made us to be. When we choose to follow Jesus, the Holy Spirit lives in us. He helps us in our weaknesses so that we may live with supernatural love that calls us to live beyond our own capacity. The more we give freedom to God’s Spirit over our lives, the more He changes us into the likeness of Jesus. The Holy Spirit also gives us spiritual gifts for the purpose of encouraging and revealing God’s heart to people.
Jesus baptizes with the Holy Spirit empowering the local church to be a witness to the life of Jesus. The local church exists to gather together for encouragement, study the Scriptures, praise and worship, prayer and the teaching and preaching of God’s Word. Each person has a significant place in the church for accomplishing the Great Commission of showing people how to follow Jesus (make disciples).
We believe in the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
We believe that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
We believe that justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
We believe in sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
We believe holiness to be God’s standard of living for His people.
We believe in the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
We believe in speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
We believe in water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
We believe divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.
We believe in the Lord’s Supper and washing of the saints’ feet.
We believe in the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
We believe in the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.
